OpenUÅ was developed out of a group project at university, our team were tasked with finding a way of using the city of Umeå's large database of public data to create value for citizens and assist them with decision making. Having studied the database we identified that it held wast amounts of information useful for citizens, such as location for data all places open to the public. The database was however difficult to use and very complicated, which led us to the idea of creating the worlds first artificially intelligent city-chatbot.
The chatbot is powered by OpenAI and trained on all data available in the database and the councils website, it is therefore able to answer any question a resident might have about their city of Umeå. Such as "where is the closest beach with a public bathroom?".
